Comfy, homey recliners are new again – and very fashionable!
Recliners add a relaxing slant to your interior design plan.
Recliners are a comfortable seating choice you can lean into.
You may think recliners are a thing of the past; if so, think again! Recliners, also called lounge chairs or reclining chairs, are new again, in so many up-to-date styles, materials and colors. And who can imagine a more comfortable addition to your living room or great room than a beautiful recliner?
Lounge, sprawl, stretch out. There are so many reasons to add a recliner for comfy, relaxed living. Give yourself a needed break and take time to watch TV, read a book, listen to music or look out at a beautiful view.
Big, dark brown, battered leather is the stereotype image for a recliner, but there’s so much more. Today’s recliners can be more petite, with wingback and modern sleek designs. Some styles don’t even look like recliners until they’re stretched out! And some models are shaped more like chaise lounges, without an option to sit upright.
Recliners come in loads of fabrics, including prints and light colors, some with exposed wood detailing or with welting, nail heads or tufting. Some even have a swivel or rocker feature, and come with built-in heat and massage. What could be more comfortable?
Plan your recliner’s placement so there’s plenty of room for movement in the room when it’s totally open and so the chair doesn’t crash into a wall behind it. Place a table nearby for snacks and beverages and a lamp if you plan to read while lounging. Also make sure the chair is the appropriate size for the room. If your other furniture is small, select a recliner that complements this scale.
For a new tilt on seating in your home, purchase a recliner. Then lie back and relax!
