Founded in 2002, Tableaux is the world’s leading manufacturer of designer grilles, also known as faux iron. Faux Iron weighs about 10% as much as traditional iron, and is an extremely cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and beautiful way to add some style to your home.
Customers can choose from one of the dozens of existing designs from Tableaux, adapt an existing design, or create a completely customized look from scratch! The best part is, Faux iron can be used all around the house, including as:
- Window Treatments / Inserts
- Ceiling Treatments / Medallions
- Wall Art / Wall Niche Decorative Inserts
- Door Inserts / Doorway Arches & Brackets
- Room Partitioning / Dividing Panels or Inserts
- Cabinetry / Furniture Accents

Nancy’s Take
Faux Iron’s best use depends on style and space. Because the product is so flexible, the possibilities are endless. It’s great for a niche area of the house, like a wine cellar. It can be used on the exterior of the house as well to enhance shutters or fencing. The reduced weight makes faux iron much easier to deal with and more cost-effective than the real thing. It’s not something you see every day and is a great conversation piece.
